12/07/2011 - evening

I played the same €55 (+€5) tournament again yesterday  (€5000 GTD turbo with 5min. rounds).
103 players in total.
Got to the final table second time in a row and finished in 8th place  (payout 141,xx euro).
Could have been a lot more, because I went out with a very strong hand :
I got AK suited, player before me went all-in and I was just before the dealer.  I called with AKs (think I was in 4th or 5th pos at that moment).
Other player had AQ offsuit.  So good call, I'm ahead.
Flop comes Q x x  (not in my colour).
No A of K on turn nor river.  I'm out. Pity.  That double up could have gotten me to 3rd place at least I think, because 2 mins later there were only 3 players left and the guy/girl that knocked me out eventually won the tournament.

Things to remember for myself :  Played another good tournament (do I play better in tournament than in cash games ?) and I play more defensive in tournaments, less hands  (do I play too loose in cash games ?).

Oh, and before the tournament I played a very short session (only about 5 minutes or so) on a €0,50/€1 NL table for €100. I got to €133 with a nice win in one of the very first hands.  Dropped to €128 and decided to take that €28 win in such little time.

10/07/2011 : major FU #2

Did it again...
Started Sunday evening session with a nice win, but couldn't stop playing again. So winnings got lost and in trying to recover started playing that dreaded €2/€4 FL table again. If I play there too long it always ends bad. :(
So winnings turned into big losses once again.

Which was made even worse on Monday.
Everything down the drain, bye bye €200.

But I'm not stopping the experiment !  I put an extra €600 on my account and played shitty again, dropping to €300. Because I have done quite well in tournaments before, I then put €55 in a 5.000 GTD tournament .
86 players in total started and I played very well to got to the final table !  In the end I ended 4th, with a 475 payout.  That was in the afternoon.

In the late evening, greed got in again and I played HU at a €3/€6 table which I really shouldn't have done.
Lost too much again and my bankroll is now at  €572,21

I really really need to get my BRM under control : Limit myself to playing low NL tables like €0,20/€0,40 (for €40)  max.  I MUST stay away from €2/€4 FL and €3/€6.  The fact that I got to 4th place in that tourn points out that I can play the game, but I must CONTROL myself and my bankroll. Otherwise I will ALWAYS end up with nothing.  Happened too many times before.
The only way to keep winning is by playing good at the correct limit and build that bankroll slowly.  Don't try to rush things and don't get greedy. That will always hit me back in the face.

Hope this will have been my last FU message to this blog...

Table details:

€0.05/€0.10 NL
start : €20
stop : €6,73

€0.20/€0.40 NL
start : €40
stop : €49,50

€0.10/€0.20 NL
start : €20
stop : €36,53

8/7/2011 - evening -> Major f*ck up !! :-(

I really hate it when I do this, has happened so many times before...
Getting greedy after a good roll and then playing too lang at too high stakes and losing badly. Started out with €323 and left with only €94.
I played 3 tables sim yesterday evening for about 2 hours:

  • €2/€4 FL for €120 and losing all
  • €0,25/€0,50 NL for €100 and losing all
  • €0,25/€0,50 FL for €15 and ending with about €6
€229,10 down the drain, and bankroll under €100.
I feel sooooo stupid, because after about 15mins I was €40 UP ! Won 40 at the NL table with a nice hand. But ran into a set of 3's afterwards while holding pocket aces and lost most of that winning.  I guess that's when the "chasing" started. And instead of making my bankroll grow further I lost BIG.

Will take some time, patience and good poker playing to try to recover from this.

8/7/2011

Played for about 45mins this morning at a €0,25/€0,50 NoLimit table, bringing €50 to the table.
Ended with €161,25 !  Major hand to achieve that was a full house on the flop, with two other players in the hand. One folded after the turn, one went to the showdown with me and made a flush IMO. He called my all-in and then mucked the losing hand. :-)
Of with a good start, but I know from experience that these good rolls don't last...  Will see this evening.

7/7/11 : Day 1

OK, I know I'm breaking every bankroll management rule here, but I started out on day 1 by playing with €120 on a €2/€4 FL table.  Played for about 30mins and ended up with 132,04.

Bankroll : €212,04

7/7/11 : € 200 deposit

Game on !
